Hello!
The Nature Reserve is fairly small but has loads of wildlife and interest for a site which is in the centre of a busy town.  We get together on the third Saturday of each month for our Practical Session to work on the Reserve for a couple of hours, then have refreshments at the end.

We have a range of supporters who come along to help, some families, other individuals, all different ages. We ask that under 16’s come with an adult for Health and Safety reasons.  Some supporters come regularly, others come for a few months or whenever they can, some come when the sun shines and not when it rains! We’re very flexible!

We try and update the website regularly with photos, so you may have seen some of the things we’re doing to develop the Nature Reserve. If you would like to come along and have a look or even lend a hand, our Practical Sessions are held on the third Saturday of each month, (excluding August and December), 1:30 – 3:30pm.

We meet by the pond gates at 1.30pm but people turn up when they can. We provide gloves, tools and any equipment we may need, any training about using the tools will be given.  Be sure to wear sensible footwear, long sleeves and long trousers. We ask our volunteers to sign a Volunteer  Agreement which covers Health & Safety.

If you would like your email added to the Supporter’s mailing list, you’ll receive regular updates on what’s happening with the Nature Reserve (you can unsubscribe at any time).

Hope to see you sometime.
Best wishes,

The Friends of Marconi Ponds Nature Reserve
